Rajasthan Royals are a team from Rajasthan with their base at Jaipur. The Team is the winner of 2008 season of IPL. Rajasthan Royals is terminated from 2016 Indian Premier League because for the match fixing charges. This suspension will be continued till 2017 Indian Premier League.

Rajasthan Royals is terminated from 2016 Indian Premier League because of the match fixing charges. This suspension will be to 2017 Indian Premier League.

Rajasthan Royals is captained by Shane Warne. However, Rahul Dravid is the newly appointed mentor of the team and Shane Watson is the captain. The team were the champions of the inaugural version of IPL held in the year 2008.

In 2010, for a brief violation of the agreement the team was terminated from the league by the Board of Control for Cricket in India or BCCI but was allowed a place in the league soon the case was lost by the apex board in the Supreme Court. The team does all the practise sessions and plays their home matches at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The group bought the franchisee for $67 millions, the cheapest team in the IPL, and also the least fancied team in the league at the beginning of the league. Bollywood diva Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra also has an 11.7 % stake which the couple bought for US $ 15.4 millions.

The mascot of the team is the lion named Ryan Tkalcevic and "Halla Bol" is the team anthem which is sung by Ila Arun. The name `Rajasthan Royals` is inspired by the princely states of Rajasthan and Gujarat. This is the only team that has two stadiums, Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur as well as Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Suspension of Rajastha Royals in 2016-2017
On 14th July 2015 the verdict of Supreme Court suspended Rajasthan Royals plus fellow Indian Premier League side Chennai Super Kings for two years over a corruption and match fixing scandal, meaning they could not and will not participate in both 2016 and 2017 IPL tournaments.
