This small town forms the entry point to the renowned Buxa Tiger Reserve. The place is embraced by lush green forests and hills and offers an enchanting experience of the green darkness. Rivers such as Jayanti and Raidak borders this small settlement. The intriguing tourist activities in this region include jungle safari, bird watching, wildlife watching and trekking. Exotic species of migratory birds are also hosted by Rajabhatkhawa. It also houses a Nature Interpretation Centre having a museum which displays various wildlife related articles.

Rajabhatkhawa is ideal for enjoying a relaxing time. Being the gateway of a famous tiger reserve, it leads to a spectacular world of wild elephant, tigers, leopard, bison and many other varieties of wildlife and ruins of ancient forts in the Buxa Tiger Reserve. The Nature Interpretation Centre at Rajabhatkhawa also issues entry permits to visitors of Buxa Tiger Reserve. The place also houses a number of trekking trails that provides the trekker a chance to glance at the vibrant wildlife in their natural habitat. The hilly terrain of this region with a number of sparkling rivers and tributaries form a magnificent landscape. The cool breeze and riverside view makes the place immensely charming.

There are several nearby tourist attractions too. Buxa Fort, which stands at an altitude of 867 meters over the Sinchula Range, right at the middle of the Buxa forest. The fort is historically very significant as it served the British to confine the Indian freedom fighters including Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. A temple of Mahakal is a popular pilgrimage site, located near Rajabhatkhawa. Thick forests of Chilapata and the beautiful riverbed of Jayanti River are also included in the list. A splendid site can be cherished in the dense forest where Jayanti River gracefully meanders with white pebbles scattered along the banks. Pokhri is another pilgrimage site visited by a number of devotees. Cooch Behar town, famed for its Cooch Behar Palace is also situated near Rajabhatkhawa.

Rupam Valley of Bhutan can be reached by proceeding along the same trail which is another picturesque tourist destination. Trekking in Rajabhatkhawa is immensely adventurous and interesting. Another significant trekking trail of the region is Buxadar to Jayanti trek passing through the dense forest of Buxa Tiger Reserve. The journey leads to an old stalactite cave of Jayanti, also known as Mahakal Cave. Tourists in Rajabhatkhawa can also visit the nearby alluring destinations like Alipurduar, Chilapata and Jalpaiguri.

Rajabhatkhawa can be enjoyed the best during winters. During monsoons the place receives heavy rainfall and raises the humidity level. It also remains close from 15th June to 15th September.
