The college was established by the Moogambigai Charitable and Educational Trust and it started its journey with some certain aims and objectives. The main objectives of the college include continuing pursuit of excellence, acquiring the state of the art-know how, imbibing excellent in-the-job skills, activating open and positive attitudes, making Universal ethical values at work ethics and also keep continuously learning-life long. The college has got the recognition and approval of the Government of India and the State Government of Karnataka. The college affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangaluru.

The Raja Rajeswari Dental College & Hospital (RRDCH), Bangaluru offers several courses in different disciplines of dental science at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The main two courses offered by the college are Bachelor of Dental Science (BDS) and Masters of Dental Science (MDS). The college offers the postgraduate MDS course in the disciplines like Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Conservative & Endodontics and Periodontics, Periodontics, Oral Surgery, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Pathology, Oral Medicine and Radiology and Conservative Dentistry.

For getting admitted in the Raja Rajeswari Dental College & Hospital (RRDCH), Bangaluru, the candidates are required to have certain qualifications. The students are required to have passed the P.U.C or HSC or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (Zoology & Botany) from a recognised Indian University or Board. However, the aggregate comes down to 40% for the students, belonging to the SC/ST/OBC category. The students, who have passed the B.Sc. degree examination of any recognised Indian University in one of the subjects mentioned above after having cleared the other subjects at a lower level, are also eligible for admission. Apart from the minimum educational qualification, the candidates are also bound to be aged at least 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission. The medical fitness of the candidates is another criterion, considered by the college during admission.

While offering the above mentioned courses, the Raja Rajeswari Dental College & Hospital (RRDCH), Bangaluru also provides some other facilities for its students. There is a 120 Dental Chaired hospital adjacent to the college, along with all the most modern equipment. The hospital is functioning within the college premises and is being run by well qualified Dental Specialists and renders free Dental Care to poor patients. The hospital has a large number of departments that are helping in providing quality dental treatment to the people of the state.
