Punjab Gatka AssociationGatka Federation of India or Punjab Gatka Association (PGA) is a registered body and has, for the first time, standardized and formulated exhaustively, the rules and regulations in September 2009 for playing of Gatka - a martial art game. The rule book has pictorial guidelines and also provides training to the upcoming Gatkebaaz (practitioners of Gatka) through seminars, workshops and camps under the new Gatka rules. It`s a humble effort to revive a forgotten and dying art having historical importance. The Punjab Olympic Association is also registered under PGA. The various education department of colleges and universities of Punjab has also been affiliated under the Gatka game.

With time this art of Gatka has become increasingly popular. It is an art which helps one to get graceful and dignified. The game of Gatka is a martial art technique played in the Indian state of Punjab. It is a martial art technique that can be used both as attacking and defensive ploy. It was introduced to India around four thousand years ago by the society of Aryans and is the mother of all martial arts. `Gat` means excellence or success in one`s own power; `ka` means belonging to or of. .

This game is generally displayed by enthusiastic people during the time of festivals or religious processions. The PGA is passionately working to make the game popular in India by promoting it in other parts of the country. The art of Gatka revolves around the technique of gatka game. There are various types of weapons used in the gatka that actually adds to the entertainment part of the game.

Currently, the martial art form - Gatka - is treated as a sport in India. This has been possible because of relentless promotion and enthusiasm shown by Gatka Federation or Punjab Gatka Association (PGA) towards making this game popular, and also taking it to larger section of the people in India. With the new rule coming to the fore, Gatkabaazi hs become all the more popular in India.

Gatka Federation or Punjab Gatka Association (PGA) is a principle body for Gatka game in India and has also adopted the traditional sports uniform for the game i.e. Track Suits or T-shirt with Knickers, Sneakers and a Headgear for protection.
