Prayag Jha Chillar , Indian PainterPrayag Jha Chillar, or popularly Prayag Jha, is reckoned as the most sought-after contemporary Indian artist. She is famous for her specialisation in etchings. She obtained her diploma in fine arts from the College of Fine Art in New Delhi in 1971. Afterwards, Prayag Jha started working professionally in the Faculty of Fine Arts, in the MS University of Baroda.

The National Gallery of Modern Art in Delhi possesses collections of Prayag Jha. To her credit she has exhibited her creations in over 20 solo exhibitions. As a recognition to her talent she has been conferred several accolades, including the International Gold Medal in the 7th Triennale, India. In the beginning, Prayag Jha used to basically concentrate in monochrome i.e. painting done in a range of tones of a single colour. Her most-acklnowledged work is inspired by raw kinds, such as webs, grass and leaves. After getting married to the sculptor J.K. Chillar, Prayag Jha lives and works from Navi Mumbai.
