Prasenajit was a prince and the son of Kusaswa, according to the Hindu legends.

Prasenajit was also the name of the son of Susandhi who belonged to the family of Ikshwaku. Susandhi was fortunate and wise to have two noble sons, Dhruvasandhi and Prasenajit. According to sources Prasenajit is placed in the 24th of the line of Ikshwaku, in the 6th century B.C.
