Pragyan Ojha, Indian Cricket PlayerPragyan Ojha is an Indian cricketer born on 5th September 1986. He made his debut that the first class level in the 2004-05 season. Ojha bowls left arm spin and represented India at the under-19 level. He finished his Ranji Trophy season of 2006-07 with 29 wickets in just 6 games.

Early Life of Pragyan Ojha
Ojha started playing cricket for the Shahid Sporting Club in Bhubaneshwar. He studied at the D.A.V Public School, Chandrasekharpur. He later joined the Hyderabad Cricket Team. He is a young bowler who is popular for his ability to flight the ball. Ojha plays for Hyderabad in the Ranji Trophy and Deccan Chargers in the Indian Premier League. His immensely successful outing in his first Ranji season ensured him a place in the 15-member Indian squad to Bangladesh tour in the Asia Cup.

He has performed immensely well in the 3 edition of the IPL for the Deccan franchisee. In the IPL 3 he was even awarded the purple cap for taking most number of wickets. Due to his tremendous show in the domestic season he was called back into the national side and made his ODI debut. He was very successful in his outing and that ensured him a spot in the 2009 ICC World Twenty20 in England.

He made his debut against Bangladesh on 6th June 2009, where he took 4 wickets for 21 runs, a terrific display in T20 format. He was adjudged Man of the Match for his stupendous and match-winning performance. However, after an mediocre performance in the first match in the Super Eight stage against the West Indies, which India lost, he was dropped for all rounder Ravindra Jadeja, another left arm finger spinner.

In November 2009, Ojha took the place of Amit Mishra for the second Test against Sri Lanka in Kanpur. He took 2 wickets for 37 runs in 23 overs and 2 wickets for 36 runs in 15.3 overs, in 1st and 2nd innings respectively, that led to 100th Test win.

He took five wickets in Third Test and helped with a win. Ojha became the 800th scalp in the final Test match of Muttiah Muralitharan, the highest wicket taker in Test history.

Ojha signed for Surrey in August 2011 for the final few weeks of the 2011 season. His outstanding bowling display of 24 wickets in 4 games helped Surrey to move to Division One of the LV County Championship.

In November, he staged a spectacular comeback taking 6 wickets for 79 runs in the first innings during the First Test of the West Indies` Tour of India.

Inspiration for Pragyan Ojha
Right from his childhood days Ojha have been hugely inspired by Venkatapathy Raju, an Indian cricketer who used to bowl left arm as well. Ojha also credits the legendary leg spinner from India- Anil Kumble, for his success.

Personal life Pragyan Ojha
Pragyan Ojha married an Oriya girl named Karabi Baral on 17 May 2010. The marriage was held keeping to the culture, traditions, customs and rituals of Orissa. The reception was held at a hotel in Bhubaneswar.
