She was born on 27 July 1990 in Mandya, Karnataka, India.

Career of Poojashree Venkatesha
In 2008, Venkatesha participated in the Commonwealth Youth Games. She was the runner-up and won the Silver Medal at the event. She missed out for the Gold Medal, beaten by Heather Watson of United Kingdom 6/2, 6/1.

She again participated in the Commonwealth Games in 2010. She lost and missed out on the Bronze Medal along with India`s Nirupama Sanjeev for the women`s doubles, defeated by Sania Mirza and Rushmi Chakravarthi, 6/4, 6/2, both of India, who also missed out for the Gold Medal.
