Poochi Srinivasa Iyengar was born in the year 1860. He was also known as Ramanathapuram Srinivasa Iyengar, and is renowned for his ability for singing and composition of Carnatic music.

Poochi Srinivasa was born in Ramanathapuram in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu on 16th August in the year 1860. He took music lessons under the guidance of Patnam Subramania Iyer (1845 - 1902), a singer of Carnatic music and came in the Sishya Parampara of Saint Tyagaraja.

He had a large number of disciples, of whom the most popular was Ariyakudi Ramanuja Iyengar. He composed over 100 songs and used the Mudra Srinivasa in his compositions.

Poochi Srinivasa Iyengar died in the year 1919.
