It is a suburb as well as a commercial hub that stretches from Nava India to the Coimbatore International Airport. The rapid development of the town can be attributed to the growth of different IT sectors in Coimbatore. Peelamedu is regarded as one of the oldest housing complex in the city. The infrastructural facilities of the town have also developed significantly. Peelamedu is well connected by different modes of transport. It is linked to different parts of the city. This has helped in its commercial development and residential growth. The Avinashi road that runs diagonally across Peelamedu is one of the major roads connecting the city with other places. The Highways and Minor Ports Department maintains this 17 kms stretch of road.
