Parsvanatha Digamber Jain Teerth, Pateria, Madhya PradeshParsvanatha Digambar Jain Teerth is a pilgrimage centre in Madhya Pradesh. It is an Atishaya Kshetra i.e. Place of Miracles. The principal deity of the temple is Lord Parshvanatha.

History of Parsvanath Digamber Jain Teerth
The temple of Parsvanath Digamber is 200 years old and has been magnificently carved with architectural designs. It was build by Seth Radha Kishanjun Shah by his earnings in the business of Cotton in V.S. 1839. The temple was installed under the patronage of Garha Kota. He was motivated by the teachings and principles of Bhattarak Mahendrakeertiji. According to history during the temple installation ceremony ghee fell short for food. The by the order of Bhattarakji, the water of nearby pond was used in place of Ghee. This pond is known as Atishaya Kund.

Temple of Parsvanath Digambar Jain Teerth
The temple of Parsvanatha has been built magnificently and is very attractive to the eyes. The spire of the temple is 90 feet high and is surrounded by a thick wall. The idol of Lord Parsvanath, the 23rd Tirthankara is 7 feet in height. The idol is build of black stone and is surmounted by serpent hoods. It is seated in a Padmasana posture. The lord is said to have miraculous powers and it is believed that if prayers and offerings are done on the first Sunday of every month than it helps in fulfilling all the desires and wishes. A miraculous pillar is also located here that cures various types of Malaria. This wonderful pillar was powered by the spells by Bhattarak Mahendrakeertiji.

Apart from this there are many other temples located here. Shri Digambar Jain Chaudhari Mandir built in V.S. 1948 has 60 feet high spire. The temple has 63 idols. Among them the idol of Lord Parshvanath surmounted by 1000 serpent hoods looks splendid. Another Jain temple, Shri Digambar Jain Chhatpuria Mandir houses the idol of Lord Parshvanatha. It was installed in V.S. 1877. The temple is adorned with a spire that is 60 feet in height. Shri Sarrafa Digambar Jain Mandir houses the idol of Lord Suparshvanath. It was installed in V.S. 1891. The Najayai Digambar Jain Mandir has the deity of Lord Parshvanatha installed in V.S. 1890. There is a temple Jain Bara Mandir with the principal deity of Lord Chandraprabha.

Parsvanath Digambar Jain Teerth organizes annual gatherings on first Sunday of every month. It is attended by thousands of people to come here to fulfil their desires. The temple has provisions for dharmashalas or rest houses for the pilgrims.

Parsvanath Digambar Jain Teerth is well connected to rail, road and air. Auto rickshaw, Jeeps are available from Garha Kota, which is 1 km far. The nearest railway stations are at Sagar located at 45 km, Damoh which is 30 km, Patharia situated at 15 km and Girbad at 21 km. the airport is located at Bhopal which is 200 km from here.
