Parakala is a village located in the newly formed state in India, Telangana with Hyderabad as its capital for 10 years. Location of Parakala
Parakala, one of the most important villages in Telangana, falls under the municipality of Warangal district. Warangal district which is now located in Telangana. Parakala is situated in the intersection of major towns like Huzurabad on one side and Bhupalpally on the other side. On the either side of the Warangal district is located the district city of Hanumakonda.

History of Parkala
History of Parkala deals with the dark medieval history of Nizams. Parkala is the village, where the farmers rose against the Nizams. There is a monument erected at the entrance of the village which signifies the immortality of the peasant rebellion. It is a monument being dedicated to the people killed by Razakars when they rose against the atrocities of the Nizam Empire. They were tied to a tree and shot down.

According to the population census in the year 2011, Parkala is composed of both rural and semi urban region. The urban agglomeration in Parkala had a population of 1, 10,962. It has become a municipality town in Warangal District.

Economy of Parkala
Parkala is one of the busiest areas in Warangal District. In one part of Parkala, there is an urban settlement and another part of this area is full of agricultural lands. The economy of Parkala is purely based on commercial and retail consumer business. The town Parkala is known as a shopping centre for the surrounding villages and towns and a majority of the trading community conduct business related to groceries, clothing, pharmaceuticals, iron and hardware. The farmers of Parkala from the surrounding villages sell their crops and vegetables in the Parkal market. This semi urban area also provides the market to the nearby villages and the districts.

Education of Parkala
In education, Parkala stood at the medium points in the literacy campaign in India. This semi urban settlement has the Government schools and one Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan centre.

Festival in Parkala
In Parkala, the main festivals celebrated are Dusshere, Bonalu and Bathukamma. The most pompous festival is Dusherra. It is a 9-day festival, in which first eight days are celebrated as Bathukamma festival while the last day is celebrated as Dussehra. Bathukamma Festival is mainly a festival celebrated by women and girls among the townsfolk. It is a festival of flowers where people stack different types of flowers over which they place a small flower indicating Gowramma, which is placed and bring them to Kumkumeshwara temple, which is located in Parkala.
