Palak Muchhal is a renowned Indian singer hailing from the region of Indore in the state of Madhya Pradesh who travels across various portions of the country participating in fundraiser shows along with her brother Palaash Muchhal wherein she delivers her performances to accumulate funds for poor children afflicted with heart ailments. As of 8th December 2016, her live shows has helped to raise funds which has helped to save lives of 1333 children suffering from heart ailments. The Government of India and several public organisations has appreciated her social work and honoured her with awards.
Palak Muchhal is also a playback singer for Bollywood movies and has lent her voice for numerous Hindi and non Hindi cinemas. One of her commendable qualities is that she is able to sing in 17 different languages different languages which comprises of Malayalam, Rajasthani, Bhojpuri, Sanskrit, Assamese, Odiya, Tamil, Sindhi, Telugu, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi and Hindi.
Early Life of Palak Muchhal
Palak Muchhal was born on 30th March, 1992 to a middle- class Maheshwari Marwari family based in Indore. Rajkumar Muchhal, her father works as an accountant in a private organisation while her mother Amita Muchhal is a homemaker. Palash Muchhal is her younger brother with whom she performs stage shows to raise funds for the poor children who need financial assistance for the medical treatment. Palak has completed her B.Com from a college in Indore in May 2013. She has been singing since she was 4 years of age and is a trained singer in Indian classical music.
Social Works of Palak Muchhal
At the age of 4 years, Palak Muchhal joined the Kalyanji-Anandji Little Star which was a team of young singers and during the Kargil War, 1999, Palak was only 7 years old when she sang outdoors on the streets for a week for raising money for families of deceased soldiers. Muchhal could collect 25, 000 rupees and also additional money later that year for victims of Odisha cyclone, 1999. During this time, teachers of Nidhi Vinay Mandir, a school in Indore requested Muchhal`s parents to arrange for funds by organising a charity show for their poor pupil Lokesh who had congenital heart disease. Finally 51, 000 rupees were collected for the expenses of surgery. However when Devi Prasad Shetty, a cardiologist learnt of this incident he operated Lokesh for free. Palak Muchhal`s parents advertised for donations for 33 children who could not afford surgeries for their heart maladies. Several charity shows were arranged the very same year which raised 2, 25, 000 rupees that financed heart surgeries for five children in Indore and Bangalore hospitals.
Palak Muchhal has travelled through several parts of the nation and overseas for charity shows from 2000 onwards which is known as `Dil se Dil Tak` or `From Heart to Heart`, which is `Save Little Hearts` in English. Her brother Palash performs at shows to accumulate funds for children with kidney diseases. Bhajans, Bollywood songs and Ghazals are the songs sung by her who sing 40 songs in each show. Muchhal collected nearly one million rupees for victims of Gujarat earthquake of 2001.
`Palak Muchhal Heart Foundation` is the name of Muchhal`s social organisation. Within March 2006, Palak Muchhal enabled 200 children to undergo heart surgery with her funds. Such funds were utilized to restore the lives of 338 children and doctors permit her to attend the surgeries in the operating theatre. Palak Muchhal later joined Bollywood, singing songs for movies but continued her developmental works for financing operations of poverty stricken children.

Awards of Palak Muchhal
In the year 2000, Palak Muchhal was awarded the Rashtriya Bal Puraskar by Krishna Kant, the 10th
Vice President of India. She has also made her entry in both Guinness Book of World Records and Limca Book of World Records for great achievements in social work. Palak Muchhal has won the 2014 Zee Cine Awards for Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Fresh Singing Talent for the song "Meri Aashiqui". In 2015, she won the Stardust Award for the Best Female Playback Singer for the title track of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, which also won the Best Track of the Year in
Zee Cine Awards. In 2017 and 2019, Palak Muchhal was awarded the Singer of the Decade award at the Lions Gold Award.
