Often it happens that the units like garages and out houses are ignored. They are not built by following Vastu Shastra. But it is necessary to be very cautious while building an outhouse or garage in the open space around the building. These have major effects on the energy levels of a plot. If ignored these can have an adverse effect on the owner of the plot or the building.
Vastu Shastra advises that the outhouse or garage should not be constructed in any corner or more than one corners of the open space. While constructing the outhouse or garage, never take the support of the compound walls. The walls of the outhouse or garage, should be at least 2 to 5 feet away from the compound walls. Otherwise, many calamities will trouble the owner and the people residing on the plot.
These are the places where, according to the art of Vastu Shastra, garages or out houses should not be built:-
•Out houses should not be constructed in the South West corner of the plot as it results in calamities like economic loss, bankruptcy, prolonged illness or late marriages, especially of girls.
•Rather it is better to construct the out house without taking the support of the compound walls. It must be, at least, 2 feet away from the Southern and the Eastern compound walls in the South-East corner. The door of the outhouse needs to be built in the East or the North. The slope of the roof should also be in the same direction of the door. The toilet of the outhouse should be in the West or the South.
There should never be an outhouse or garage in the North East corner of the plot. The negative energy will otherwise lead to loss of offspring, bankruptcy and troubles in business. The only way to get rid of these negative results is to demolish the structure. Garages in this direction also have an effect on the vehicles placed here. For instance the vehicles are found standing in the compound and they seldom come out or they are of no use at all. They are hardly found in proper working conditions if the garage is constructed in the north east corner.
•Building the outhouse in the North - West corer of the plot is also considered inauspicious. It may lead to enmity without reasons, theft and slow progress. To avert these inauspicious occurrences the out house or garage should be constructed at a distance of minimum 2 feet from the North and West compound walls. The entrance gate and slope of the roof of the out house should be in the East. The toilet should be built in the West.
•The South - West corner of the plot is also unfit for the construction of these structures. A person living in the outhouse may prove vicious for the owner of the building. He may either bring him losses or be troublesome for him. Hence, it is better not allow a servant to live in it or to rent it. Even accidents may occur or unnecessary expenditure on vehicles may increases if a garage is built in the place of the out house.
•It is better to use the outhouse as a storeroom or a lumber room. But do not use it to store commodities in good conditions or give it to anyone for living. Always use it as a lumber room. It is not necessary to construct the outhouse 2 ft. away from the compound walls. Remember to built it away from the main building and not attached to it.
•Diagonal plots do not have the South-West direction in their corners. They have either the Western or the Southern sides. In this case, the outhouse should always be constructed keeping the distance of minimum 2 ft. from the compound walls. In the diagonal plot, the South Western part comes in the middle of the compound wall. A lumber room can be constructed here by taking the support of the compound walls.
•Another direction in which the outhouse or the garage should never be built is the Eastern side of the plot. Because of this outhouse the owner`s progress comes to a stand still and he becomes infamous in the society. However if it is built 2 ft. away from the Eastern and the Southern walls of the compound it can generate some positive effects. Its door must be either in the North or in the West and the slope of the roof towards the East or the North only.
•The outhouse in the North of the plot may become the cause of economic loss for the building owner. His expenditure increases and he faces a lot of problems in his personal life. In order to obtain some benefit from the structure it needs to be constructed to the half of the length of the Northern side of the plot. But cent percent benefit can only be obtained when the unit is demolished.
•An outhouse in the Western side of the plot will lead to failure and unwanted enmity for the building owner. To minimize the percentage of the total loss the outhouse needs to be constructed in such a way that it is built without taking the support of the Western wall of the compound, leaving the North West corner of the plot. It is not harmful to take the support of the Southern wall of the compound.
•An outhouse or garage in the South or South Eastern corner may prove to be the source of mental worries especially for female members. It may even cause economic loss. To avoid such unfortunate matters, an outhouse can be constructed without taking the support of the Southern wall of the compound, leaving the South - East corner of the plot. The support of the Western compound wall if necessary can be taken. The room in the South - West should be used to store lumber only. To give it to anyone for living purpose is not profitable. The outhouse must always necessarily be separate from the main building. Generally workers living in the South - Eastern or only in the Southern outhouses are honest. No doubt, workers living in the Western as well as in the North Western outhouses work satisfactorily, but they often avoid work and remain absent over long period. Such workers can give up their jobs at anytime they like. Most of the workers living in the Northern or Eastern outhouses they too often go on strikes or they prove to be troublesome and annoying for the owner.
