Oru kodam thanni is one of the favourite games among the school girls. Oru kodam thanni is concentrated in the areas like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Bengaluru.

Steps to play Oru Kodam Thanni
Oru kodam thanni is played among the school children. It requires three to four children. Oru kodam thanni is played both in indoor and outdoor ways.

The first group interested in playing Oru kodam thanni requires forming two members from the team. The team is selected from the group, forming the arch by the variety of ways. It"s just like Inky Pinky Ponkey.

The two selected children in Oru Kodam Thanni will form an arch by holding their hands together by standing in opposite to opposite angle.

After that the rest children in the group of four will run in circles through the arch singing Oru Kudam Thanni Oothi Ore Poo Poothadhaam, a traditional song in South Indian local dialect which means that after pouring one bucket water, one flower flowered.

Then in the second round, the children need to sing another song Rendu Kudam Oothi Rendu Poo Poothadhaam, which means that after pouring second bucket water and so on.

For every sentence they will pass through the arch formed by the two girls. While they sing poothadhaam the girl passing the arch will be trapped by the girls forming the arch. The girl who will be trapped in the arch will now go to the arch team releasing one girl, who first got selected for forming the arch to go around with others.

Oru kodam thanni is one of the conventional games played in indoor and outdoor ways. This conventional game is one of the favourite games among the school children. This traditional game in Southern parts of India is also well played in office parties and it is also well played in the wedding ceremonies.
