Origin of Christianity can be traced back to 2000 years ago. The teachings of Jesus gave birth to Christianity that started actually from the Roman province of Palestine and spread to the rest of the World. Christianity is the sect that believes in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. It receives the name from Jesus Christ. Jesus was regarded as the revered and pure hearted saviour who came upon earth only to fulfil his fate as the messenger of God. He kept up with his work of relieving the distressed and helping the poor, performing miracles that he attributed solely to his faith.
Christianity took definite shape as a religion at the hands of St. Paul who explained and interpreted the message of Jesus with the help of his own wide range of knowledge and expanded the religion to the far ends of the then Roman empire. Both St. Paul and St. Peter look upon Christianity as a universal religion open to all nations.

He left us His Last testament, the New Testament in the Bible to follow after His death and resurrection. Thus, the Christians derive their inspiration from the 39 books comprising the Old Testament, but much more from the 27 books comprising the New Testament. In India, the Origin of Christianity can be associated with the coming of the Portuguese and the apostles of St. Thomas.

In addition to that Jesus taught a life of love, service to all fellowmen with the utmost sincerity of heart, which was a truly universal way of life. According the teachings of Jesus, God is the one who makes no distinction between the sinner and pious, between the righteous and unrighteous.
