Nizam`s Museum is situated in Hyderabad in Telangana. It is located at Purani Haveli, a palace of the Nizams of Hyderabad.
Dedication to Nizam"s Museum
Nizam`s Museum was dedicated to the seventh and last Nizams of Hyderabad, the late Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan. He was considered by many to be the richest man in the world during his time. As Nizam, his fortune was reportedly US$2 billion in the early 1940s. He was widely believed to hold that title, until his death in 1967. Nizam`s Museum was obtained by the former second Nizam of Hyderabad in the year 1750. However, the museum was opened to the general public on February 19, in the year 2000.

Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan had received many artefacts and gifts from different dignitaries around the world. During Silver Jubilee of his glorious reign in the year 1936 he had received varied collection of souvenirs, mementos, and models of vintage cars. The prestigious Nizam`s museum presently boasts of an exotic collection of these gifts that were gifted to him.
Historical Memories of Nizam"s Museum
Nizam`s Museum is a newly renovated museum that exhibits a magnificent collection of historical memoirs of late medieval era. Some of the historical legends include glittering silver models of all the eminent buildings found in Hyderabad, a 1930 Rolls Royce, Packard and a Mark V Jaguar, a gold burnished wooden throne dazzling in its imperial grandeur that was used by the Nizam during the last silver jubilee celebration, several Urdu citations describing the efflorescence of the Nizam rule, a gold Tiffin box studded with diamonds, a miniature gold model of the Jubilee Pavilion, diamond studded silver coffee cups, a silver filigree elephant with its mahout, glass inlay painting of Nizam Osman Ali Khan, mother-of-pearls as well as gold-studded daggers, caskets, and silver perfume containers. The vintage cars of Nizam rulers which are used by the Nizams and the descendants pose as wonderful sight for the ancient and medieval vehicle enthusiasts.
Visiting Information
While a trip to the Nizam`s Museum in Hyderabad, the tourists can also halt to see the Charminar and Salar Jung Museum that is situated in the vicinity. Thus a trip to the Nizam`s Museum reflects the city`s treasure trove of cultural delights to the tourists. Presently the palace is open daily except on Fridays from 10 AM to 5 PM.
