Nelliyampathy , Hill station in KeralaNelliyampathy is a serene hill station which gives a glimpse of nature`s bounty. Lying almost seventy-five km from Palakkad it rises as high as 467 metres above the mean sea level. Encompassing a total area of more than eighty-two sq. km., its summit reaches 1572 metres. Topography of Nelliyampathy is such that it has the capability to captivate one`s mind. Nelliyampathy has a cluster of ridges interspersed by vistas of valleys, dense forests of evergreen trees and orange plantations. To access this dreamy hill resort, one has to move zigzag through dozen narrow bendings on the Ghat road. The grand forests of Sahyadri Range fall on the way. En route is an ideal stopover at the Pothundi Reservoir. Pothundi is formed across the beautiful tributaries of the Ayalar River, namely Meenchadyppuzha and Padippuzha .It is located nearly seventeen km from Palghat, noted for its exotic locales and ambiance.

Cascading waterfalls of varied sizes often intersperse the lush forested hills. Seethakundu is one such important fall which flows down almost a thousand metres.

The hills of Nelliyampathy are a den for trekkers and lovers of adventure. The Community Hall at Kaikatty proves to be an ideal camping ground for trekkers.

Climatic condition of Nelliyampathy suits the tourists too- who visit this place throughout the year. Winters are cool with temperature dropping down to 15 C in December. Summer temperature records a peak height of 30 C.

How to reach Nelliyampathy
By air :Coimbatore lying in Tamil Nadu is only 55 km from Palakkad. If any one wants to take international flights one can get the service of Cochin International Airport. It is about 120 km from Nelliyampathy.

By rail:Closest railway station is at Palakkad, lying almost five km from Palakkad town.

Accommodation in Nelliyampathy
Influx of tourists in Nelliyampathy is rightly being managed by a multitude of hotels that have sprung up here. Greenland Resort, Nelliyampathy and Itl Resort deserve special mention.
