Nathang Valley, East SikkimNathang Valley is located in the eastern part of Sikkim, which is one of the hilly Indian States. It has a picturesque beauty that incarcerates many nature lovers. Nathang Valley is located at an altitude of 13,500 feet above sea level.

Nathang Valley is flanked by the mountains on all sides and the small brook that is covered with snow during the winter is also mesmerizing. Nathang Valley is the highest hilly location in the Eastern Himalayan Range, to stay in the Indian part of the Old Silk Route. It is one of the remotest Tibetan habitations in Himalaya Mountains Range. This place is often considered as the little China.

The long four-month of sub-zero temperature makes the Nathang Valley a cold desert and one of the most beautiful parts of Eastern Himalayas, with the sunrise over Kanchenjunga from Lungthung and Eagles Nest Bunker, which are placed only 5 kms from here. This place is shown in different colours in different times; autumn becomes golden with dry grasses, rainy season gets covered with flowers and winter is filled with 5 feet of snow. Some migratory birds are also seen in Nathang Valley, which mostly come from Siberia. There are several trek routes in Nathang valley.

Along with the sunrise points, there are some other places to visit in Nathang Valley, and they are:

Hindu Temple, Buddhist Monastery, graveyard of British soldiers, Padamchey view point, Genmochen view point, Thambi view point, Kupup Lake, Tukla valley, Baba Mandir, Dzuluk, Jorepokri Lake, Changu Lake, Menmecho Lake.

Accommodation
Recently, few home stays with modern facilities have been built with the aid from the State Government by the local villagers to accommodate tourists.

Visiting Information to Nathang valley
Nathang valley is populated by tourists throughout the year. But snowfall lovers generally choose the time span of January to April. Nathang valley can be reached from NJP or Bagdogra or Siliguri via Rongpo or via Kalimpong.
