Narasinha Dutt College, <b><a href=Howrah, West Bengal" border="1">The Narasinha Dutt College is the oldest college in the district of Howrah and the biggest college in West Bengal. The college was established in the year 1924. Narasinha Dutt College started its journey with just seven teachers and hundred and twenty-four students in the residential building of late I.R.Belious. Morning shift is exclusively for girls, evening shift exclusively for boys and the day shift is Co-educational. This college is administered by the University of Calcutta. Narasinha Dutt College has been re-accredited and awarded B++ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The college is also recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

History of Narasinha Dutt College
The initiative to construct the college was taken by Late Suranjan Dutta, the second son of Late Narasinha Dutta. Narasinha Dutt College started with Motilal Chatterjee as Principal and renowned scholar Jnanendranath Sen as Vice-Principal. Then Prof. Sen became the Principal and played an eminent role of the architect of the college. Later on new buildings were constructed, number of students was increased and fourteen honours courses were opened.

Departments of Narasinha Dutt College
Narasinha Dutt College offers a number of subjects for the honors courses in Science, humanities and commerce streams. The honours subjects for arts are Bengali, English, Sanskrit, Philosophy, History, Political Science, Urdu and Education. The B.Sc honours courses are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Economics, Zoology, Botany, Anthropology and Computer Science. B.Com honours is also taught in the Narasinha Dutt College. It also offers general course study in under graduation. Apart from undergraduate courses, Narasinha Dutt College also offers post graduation in Mathematics and English.
