Naguesh Temple is one of the oldest temples in Goa. It origin can be traced back to the year 1413.

Naguesh Temple, GoaNaguesh Temple is dedicated to an incarnation of Lord Shiva - Sri Naguesh. This temple was commissioned during the rule of Veer Pratap Devraya who was a ruler of the Vijaynagar Empire. This temple was renovated in the year 1880. The sabha mandava has complex carvings. The carvings depict scenes from the Ramayana, Astadikpal and Gandharva. It has a water tank which has a geometrical setting. It is built in such a manner that Lord Naguesh`s statue is seen reflected in the water. Lord Shiva`s bull Nandi guards the water tank. This deity has been referred in Skanda Purana.
