Music Gharanas of Western India are the organizational systems or tradition of music having a typical style. Musicians following a particular Gharana follow a specific style of singing. Music Ghranans are sometimes influenced by other forms of music. Many exponents of Music Gharanas of Western India have emerged over time and have gained huge acclamation throughout the world.

Music Gharanas of Western India Bhendi Bazaar Gharana
Bhendibazaar Gharana is one of the most famous vocal Gharanas of western India. The origin of this Gharana is Bhendi Bazaar of Mumbai. It was founded in the year 1890 by the brothers Chhajju Khan, Khadim Hussain Khan and Nazir Khan. The prominent characteristics of this song are the presentation of khayals in the form of `aakars`, emphasis on intonation of notations and extensive breath control while singing long passages. A medium tempo is maintained throughout the performances with extended `alaps`. Acclaimed exponents of this Gharana are Ustad Aman Ali Khan and Anjanibai Malpekar.

Each music Gharana depicts an ideology which is followed by the musicians belonging to that Gharana. Music Gharanas of western India have contributed immensely in the cultural heritage of the country
