The Museum and Picture Gallery is located at Sayaji Bagh, Vadodara.It was established in the year 1894 by the Maharaja Gaekwar.It was opened for the public in 1921. Maharaja Sayaji Rao Gaekwad donated all his personal collection to the museum.

The museum houses European paintings, Greek and Roman sculptures, different types of artworks made of wood, ivory, bronze from Burma, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, China and Japan etc. Apart from that a rich collection of ancient Indian art works are also preserved there. Museum and Picture Gallery is also open from 10.00 a.m to 5.00 p.m except Mondays and other government holidays.
