Situated in Purbi Singhbum district of Jharkhand, is the `census town` of Musabani. It is situated 45 km. from Jamshedpur. The nearest railway station is Ghatshila Railway Station at a distance of 20 km. This town is dominated by the tribal communities mainly the Santhals and some of the primitive tribes like Birhor and Sabar (Kariya). Musabani has a number of copper mines.

Males constitute 52% of the population and females comprises of the remaining 48%. In Musabani, 12% of the population is less than six years of age. The male literacy rate is 76% and the female literacy rate is 58%.
