Mumbai Cricket AssociationMumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is one of the oldest members of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and it is in charge of all kinds of cricket related activities in Mumbai and its surrounding regions like Thane and Greater Mumbai, at the moment. The jurisdiction of MCA includes the area up to Dahanu in the Western Suburbs, Badlapur in the Central Suburbs, and Navi Mumbai up to Kharghar. The association is formerly known as the Bombay Cricket Association and it started its journey in the year 1930. The association has a sound Constitution for governing its activities and it belongs to the West Zone, according to the BCCI. The association is a perfect example of governing cricket, as it always tries to maintain a sound democratic atmosphere in all of its activities. It also houses the Headquarters of the BCCI in Cricket Centre within the Wankhede Stadium premises. The Mumbai Cricket Association is having its own stadium- The Wankhede Stadium; that was built in the year of 1975.

MCA has developed the MCA Recreation Centre at the Bandra Kurla Complex which houses one of the best Indoor Cricket Schools in the world.

Official Norms of Mumbai Cricket Association
According to the constitution of the Mumbai Cricket Association, no individual is allowed to continue in any post of the association for more than eight years (for terms of 2 years) at a stretch. The constitution also suggests that an individual can be allowed to re-occupy a post after a gap of 4 years, once he/she completes 8 years in the position. The association always tries to keep itself on the move with new ideas and enthusiasm and it practices the democratic values, as well. The system of individual membership is not allowed in the constitution of the Mumbai Cricket Association. The association has a huge number of 350 ordinary members and 25 Associate members, all of which are affiliated to the Association.

Voting System of Mumbai Cricket Association
The voting system of the Mumbai Cricket Association is also quite interesting, as it allows only the ordinary members to vote during its elections. According to its constitution, if any ordinary member is found to be inactive in terms of cricket activity for more than 3 years, the association will demote the Club to which he/she belongs, as an Associate member. The constitution added that if the club is found to be still inactive for another 3 years, the association cancels the membership of the club, immediately.
