Mumbai Central railway station was originally known as Bombay Central. The station is situated on the Western Railway Mumbai suburban and outstation lines. From the station one can avail some much talked about places like, Tardeo, Crawford Market, Mohammed Ali Road, Kalbadevi, Bhendi Bazar and Chor bazar. Mumbai Central railway station also serves the Western Railway outstation trains as the southernmost terminus in Mumbai. From Mumbai Central railway station one can avail trains for Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab and Delhi. The premier Rajdhani trains also leave for Delhi from this railway station. The Karnavati Express and Gujarat Mail (for Ahmedabad), the Avantika Express (for Indore) and the Golden Temple Mail (for Amritsar) are some of the other famous trains.
