Mountain Peaks of South IndiaThe States of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Telangana are located in the southern part of India. South India has several mountain peaks existing as a part of its geographical terrain. They have not only beautified the states in South India, but have also contributed in making this region a tourist destination of India.

Mountain Peaks of Andhra Pradesh
Kappa Konda is the highest mountain in Andhra Pradesh and has a height of about 3,840 ft (1,171m). Other mountain peaks of Andhra Pradesh are Innaglur (2,080 ft / 634 m), Nishankonda (1,137 ft / 347 m) and Pesiduvaripalli (599 ft / 183 m).

Mountain Peaks of Kerala
Mukurti Peak is the highest mountain in Kerala and has an elevation of about 7,807 ft (2,380 m). Anai Mudi (7,295 ft / 2,224 m), Vavul Mala (6,679 ft / 2,036 m), Shetur Peak (5,405 ft / 1,648 m), Devar Malai (5,329 ft / 1,624 m), Brahmagiri (5,276 ft / 1,608 m), Banasuram (4,413 ft / 1,345 m), Pamba Malai (3,409 ft / 1,039 m), Kakkiar Malai (3,332 ft / 1,016 m) and Sabarimala (1,485 ft / 453 m) are the other mountain peaks of Kerala.Mountain Peaks of South India

Mountain Peaks of Karnataka
Mountain peaks of Karnataka provide opportunity for trekking. Mullayanagiri is the highest peak in Karnataka and one of the best trekking destinations in South India. It has a height of about 1,930 meters. Kumara Parvata has a height of about 1712 meters and is known as the "trekker"s paradise". Some of the other mountain peaks of Karnataka are Kudremukh, Pushpagiri Hills, Kodachadri and Tadiandamol.

Doda Betta is the highest mountain in Tamil Nadu and has an elevation of about 8,281 ft (2,524 m), Perumal Peak is Tamil Nadu"s second highest mountain, which has a height of about 8,005 ft (2,440 m). Other mountain peaks of Tamil Nadu are Vembadi Shola Peak (7,717 ft / 2,352 m), Kottai Malai (4,493 ft / 1,369 m), Sivagiri Malai (4,100 ft / 1,250 m), Sadura Giri (3,824 ft / 1,166 m), Mahendra Giri (3,705 ft / 1,129 m), Bodamalai Betta (3,173 ft / 967 m), Agastya Malai (2,214 ft / 675 m) and Vallanad (825 ft / 252 m).

Mountains beautifying Telangana are Impagat, Chintaikot, Jagtial Hills, Pirmulo, Polaram, Enkiloni Gutta, Top Konda, Maisamma Gutta, Marri Gutta, Kandenmarai, Kishora Gutta, Maisama, Panch Pandol and Pochamagat.
