Moti Nandi was a Bengali author. He also worked as a sports journalist in Anandabazar Patrika.

Moti Nandi, Bengali AuthorMoti Nandi (1931 - 2010) used his experience in sports journalism into an award winning literature. He is known for his useful contribution to sports literature. He was a graduate of University of Calcutta. He has received the Lifetime Achievement award (2008) for his contribution to journalism. He is best known for his portrayal of sporting events and sport personalities. His first short story was published in Desh magazine in 1957. Another story Pujabarshiki was published in Parichoy Magazine on 1985. Among the youth the character Kolaboti is popular.

His novels are: Shada Kham, Ubhoyoto Sampurno, Golap Bagan, Chaya, Chaya Soronite Rohini, Jibonto, Duti Tinti Ghor, Ditio Innings er Por , Duro Dristi, Puber Janala, Bonanider Bari, Bijolibalar Mukti, Malabika, Sibi, Soloke Ponero Kora, Sohodeber Tajmahal, Sobai Jache, Dosti Uponyas, Nakhatter Raat, Baobab, Dadash Bakti and Nayaker Probesh o Prasthan.

His compositions for children are: Koni, Aloukik Dilu, Stopper, Striker, Kuronn, Jibon Ananta, Nnaran, Feraari, Tulsi, Dolbodoler Aage, Minu Chinur Trophy, Empiyaring, Dhankurir Kingkong, Biswa-jora Biswacup, Buro Ghora, Doshti Kishore Uponyas, Cricketer Ayne Kanun and Bhuli. Kolaboti has its own series which are: Kolaboti, Kolaboti Der Diet Chart, Kolaboti r Dekha Shona, Kolaboti o Khayeri, Bhuter Basay Kolaboti, Kolaboti, Apur maa o Panchu, Kolaboti o Millenium Match and Kolabotir Shaktishel.

His Doshti Kishore Uponyas is a prominent collection of novels which has ten stories in it. They are: Nonida Not Out, Striker, Stopper, Oporajito Ananda, Dolbodoler Aage, Feraari, Shiba`r Fire Asa, Tulsi, Nnaran and Minu Chinur Trophy.

He has received Ananda Purashkar (1974) and Sahitya Akademi Award (1991) for his contribution to Bengali Literature. His other works include: Cricketer Don, Khelar Yuddhya, `Kapil Nachchhe`, `Cricketer Rajadhiraj Don Bradman`, Karuna Basata`, `Nil Thali`. His other famous short story collections are `Behular Bhala` (1975), `Chair (1983), `Shrestha Galpa` (1992).
