Moti Nandi (1931 - 2010) used his experience in sports journalism into an award winning literature. He is known for his useful contribution to sports literature. He was a graduate of University of Calcutta. He has received the Lifetime Achievement award (2008) for his contribution to journalism. He is best known for his portrayal of sporting events and sport personalities. His first short story was published in Desh magazine in 1957. Another story Pujabarshiki was published in Parichoy Magazine on 1985. Among the youth the character Kolaboti is popular.

He has received Ananda Purashkar (1974) and Sahitya Akademi Award (1991) for his contribution to Bengali Literature. His other works include: Cricketer Don, Khelar Yuddhya, `Kapil Nachchhe`, `Cricketer Rajadhiraj Don Bradman`, Karuna Basata`, `Nil Thali`. His other famous short story collections are `Behular Bhala` (1975), `Chair (1983), `Shrestha Galpa` (1992).
