Mosques of West Bengal uphold the tradition of justice and equality. They boast of grand architectural style and culture. A mosque is a place of worship for followers of Islam that also act as centres of learning too. These mosques, remarkable in design are quite prominent for their sheer brilliance of their grace, style and simplicity. There are several mosques built during the 14th century located in West Bengal that are listed below:

Adina Mosque
Adina Masjid and Tipu Sultan MosqueAdina Mosque constructed in the 14th century is situated in Malda district of West Bengal. The mosque was regarded as the largest in the entire Indian subcontinent during the medieval times. Adina Mosque was built in 1373 by Sultan Sikandar Shah.

Bari Mosque
Bari Mosque is located in the Hooghly District of West Bengal. It was built in the pre-Mughal period that stands at Chhota Pandua. The four-sided building measures around 70.41m by 12.5m and consists of no enclosed shan or courtyard in front. The roof of 63 domes earlier lay on the arcades and brick-pendentives.

Furfura Sharif
Furfura Sharif was built by Muqlish Khan in 1375. The mosque attracts huge Muslim pilgrimage; especially during the Pir`s mela (fair).It attracts large number of pilgrims during Urs festival. Muslims dwelling in that area are believed to be chiefly Ashrafs.

Khustigiri
Khustigiri has been established by the great sufi saint Hazrat Syed Shah Abdullah Kermani. It is located in Birbhum District in West Bengal. Set up almost 500 years ago, Khustigiri is famous for rendering service to the mankind by the order of his spiritual master Hazrat Makhdoom Shah Arzani (RA).

Nakhoda Masjid
The Nakhoda Masjid is located in the Chitpur area of the Burrabazar business district in Central Kolkata. It is situated at the intersection of Zakariya Street and Rabindra Sarani. The mosque bears a strong resemblance to the mausoleum of Mughal Emperor Akbar at Sikandra, Agra.

Katra Mosque
Katra Mosque and Hooghly ImambaraThe Katra Masjid or Mosque is the tomb of Nawab Murshid Quli Jafar Khan. The mosque is located in the north eastern side of the city of Murshidabad, in the Indian state of West Bengal. It was built during the years 1723 and 1724. Murshid Quli Khan with the help of his architect Murad Farashbuilt built the mosque.

Hooghly Imambara
Hooghly Imambara is located in Hooghly, West Bengal. It is a mosque cum imambara that consists of a two storied structure and a tall clock tower over the entrance gate. The construction of the building was initiated by Muhammad Mohsin in the year 1841, which was completed in 1861.

Kherur Mosque
Kherur Mosque was built by Rafat Khan during the reign of Sultan Alauddin Husain Shah. The mosque is located on the top of a mound at Kherur in Sagardighi, which is about 30 km from the north-west of Berhampore. This 15th century mosque covers an area of two acres. The mosque comprises of a single domed prayer chamber and a triple domed corridor. It also has four minarets at four corners.

Tipu Sultan Mosque
The Tipu Sultan Shahi Mosque is a famous mosque located in Kolkata. The mosque is a relic that boasts of architectural beauty and cultural tradition. It is situated at 185 Dhartamtalla Street. It was built in 1832 by Prince Ghulam Mohammed, the youngest son of Tipu Sultan.
