Moon Peak also called `Mun Peak` is one of the popular peaks situated in the Himachal Pradesh state of India. It belongs to the Dhauladhar ranges of Himachal Pradesh. Moon Peak is a safe venture for the novice mountaineers. Every year, it draws a good number of climbers from various corners of the world.
Location of Moon Peak
Moon Peak is located in the Dhauladhar ranges in Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated at an altitude of 4,600 m above the mean sea level.
Trekking at Moon Peak
Moon Peak is well known among the trekkers, mountaineers and explorers. The peak towers behind Mcleodganj in Dharamshala. The peak can be accessed via a ridge on the right side of the Illaqua glacier straightway to the top. Another easier route is to climb the Indrahara Pass and then traverse a ridge on the other side of the pass and move towards the peak. If required, a guide can also be hired. The other peaks that surround the Moon peak are Slab Peak, Rifflehorn Peak, Two Gun Peak, Camel Peak, Arthur Seat and Arthur Stool Peak.

April and May are the ideal months to access Moon Peak. Gaggal Airport and Kangra Railway Station are the nearest airport and railway station to reach Moon Peak.
