Mohammed Shahid, an Indian Field hockey player is often reckoned as the master dribbler. He played in the Moscow Olympic Games, 1980 and has been honoured with Arjuna award and Padma shri award.

Early Life of Mohammed Shahid
Mohammed Shahid was born on 14th April 1960 at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. He played for the Junior Indian Hockey team when he was 19. He participated at the Junior World Cup held in France. Soon he managed to secure a position in the Indian Senior National Hockey team and played at the Champions Trophy Tournament, Karachi and International Hockey Tournament, Kuala Lumpur, in the year 1980. He was declared as the Best Forward of the Tournament at Karachi.

Career of Mohammed Shahid
Mohammed Shahid was one of the experienced players of the Indian National hockey team that ended up winning the gold medal at the Moscow Olympic Games, 1980. During 1985-86, Shahid was the captain of Indian Hockey team. He also represented his nation in 1984 Olympics held at Los Angeles and also the 1988 Olympics in Seoul. He is most popular and respected as the world`s best dribbler.

By bad luck for all his skills as a great forwarder, he could not show his ability as a striker and lacked completing superior skill when taking into account the number of scoring opportunities. Mohammed Shahid made his international debut for India with the Junior World Cup in the year 1979. And right away he made a mark for his fantabulous dribbling and ball-control skills.

He was the member of Asian All-Star team in the year1986. At the 1982 Asian Games held in Delhi, Shahid was in the team that won silver medal and Bronze at the 1986 Asian Games held in Seoul. At the 1986 Asian Games, Shahid`s awe-inspiring skills brought in him a place in the Asian All-Star team. Mohammad Shahid often regarded as the Master dribbler who magnetized his fans with his bravura.

Awards of Mohammed Shahid
For his outstanding accomplishments, The Indian Government bestowed the highest and prestigious award in sports, The Arjuna Award for the year of 1980-1981. Moreover he has also received the highest civilian award, The Padma Shri Award, in the year 1986.
