Mohammad Amin Kamil is a prominent author of Indian drama, opera, short stories and essays. He was born in the year 1924. His opera, Bombur ti Lolir i.e. "Bombur and Lolir", used a native legend to rope together songs and dialogue. Another opera, Ziny mozur i.e. `Woodcutters` is based on a folk tale in which a princess falls in love with a woodcutter and marries him after overcoming many supernatural powers. Habba Khatun, on the tragic real life of the Kashmiri romantic poet-turned-queen by the same name, was much admired for the richness of its dialogue. In the forefront of the Jammu and Kashmir Cultural Congress, Kamil wrote Pagah chhu gashdar i.e. "Tomorrow Is Bright" in the 1950s romanticizing the Government of India`s developmental programme for `a new Kashmir`. He also translated two Bengali plays of Rabindranath Tagore. The names can be mentioned as Razi ti reny i.e. `Raja and Rani`, from Raja o rant and Dakghar.
