He has garnered much appreciation for his compositions which are known to have changed the course of Hindi film music. Apart from being a skilled music composer, Mithoon has also lent his voice for some songs and has authored several Bollywood songs too. Hailing from a musical family, Mithoon has presented some of the most memorable compositions to the music industry of India.

Early Life of Mithoon Sharma
Mithoon Sharma was born on 11th January 1985 to a family of celebrated musicians. His father was the famed music composer Naresh Sharma. He began exploring music at an early age of eleven with his teacher Rajiv Shah who acquainted him with keyboard and laid a strong foundation for the same. Later he received training under the tutelage of leading pianist Tony Pinto and learnt Jazz from him. At the initial phase of his career, when he was 16 years old, he aspired to become a pianist. However later he shifted his focus towards music direction and proceeded for the same. During his college days he got trained about the structure of Indian classical music under Naseer Quadri Sahaab. Mithoon Sharma has also spent time with the music maestro Pyarelalji who inculcated in him the techniques of proportionate finger weight on the piano in addition to many other musical skills.

Career of Mithoon Sharma
Mithoon Sharma, Indian Movie Music Director Mithoon Sharma marked his debut in the Hindi film industry with the recreation of the song `Woh Lamhe Woh Baatien` for the film Zeher in 2005. His composition touched the listeners and also transformed the facet of Bollywood music. He got his first independent project as a music director in the year 2006 with the film Bas Ek Pal which featured popular songs like `Tere Bin` and earned him huge appreciations. Playback singer Atif Aslam also marked his first success through the compositions of Mithoon. Following this, Mithoon composed music for the movie Anwar which received unanimous applauses for being immensely soulful. Songs like `Tohse Naina Lage` and `Maula Mere` from the film topped the charts and became enlisted amongst the gems of the Bollywood music. His success graph further heightened with the Emraan Hashmi starrer film The Train-Some lines should never be crossed. Mithoon also turned playback singer with the movie and the tracks including `Zindagi Ne Zindagi Bhar Gam Diye` and `Woh Ajnabee` went on to become chartbusters, both of which were voiced by Mithoon.

Aggar was his next project which once again garnered huge appreciations. Subsequently Mithoon worked as a guest composer for the first Indi-pop album of Atif Aslam titled Doorie for which he composed the song `Kuch is Tarah`. The soulful song entirely changed the image of Atif as a vocalist and is still enlisted amongst his best songs. Mithoon also worked as a music director for the Bollywood flick Lamhaa which featured the heart touching song `Madno` sung by Kshitij Tarey and Chinmayi. He composed one song, `Yeh Kasoor`, for the film Jism 2 which was also penned by him. His composition `Tum Hi Ho` from the movie Aashiqui 2, sung by the popular playback singer Arijit Singh, became one of the huge hits gaining applauses from critics as well as listeners. Mithoon also worked for a Malaysian movie Diva under the production of Astro Shaw and composed five tracks and the background score for the movie. For the film he also worked with Malaysian leading R&B vocalist, Ning Baizure. He also released his album Tu Hi Mere Rab Ki Tarah in the year 2009.

Mithoon Sharma has won a number of awards for his exquisite compositions. He has won Stardust Award for Standout Performance by a Musical Director, Zee Cine Award for Best Lyricist, Zee Cine Award for Best Music Director, IIFA Award for Best Music Director, Star Guild Award for Best Lyrics, IIFA Award for Best Lyricist, Zee Cine Award for Best Track of the Year and Filmfare Award for Best Music Director.
