Mini Mathur is an Indian actress and television anchor, who became most popular for co-hosting the musical talent hunt show Indian Idol. Initially, she worked as an anchor on SUN TV channel. At present, Mathur hosts a cultural show named Bombay Blush on BBC UK. She also appears on the sports quiz show, Sports ka Superstar, on Doordarshan as the host. Mini Mathur is married to film maker Kabir Khan and is settled in Mumbai. She was also a very popular veejay on MTV India for almost four years.
Early Life of Mini Mathur
Mini Mathur was born on 21st August 1975, in Mumbai. After her graduation, she completed her masters in MBA from Institute of Management Technology in Ghaziabad. After that Mathur worked with Hindustan Thompson Associates for a brief period of 2 years. She had also worked for an advertising firm for a time gap of two years. That time witnessed her plunging as anchor in television because of her stunning beauty and grace. With her verbal grace, her witty remarks and an amiable persona she was an immediate hit. Initially, Mini Mathur worked with SUN TV India as a video jockey and hosted a number of shows. According to her she had been working with J Walter Thompson for a couple of years when the opportunity to host Indias` first game show dropped into her lap. That`s how she started hosting Tol Mol Ke Bol for a lark. Post that the offers kept pouring in and she couldn`t sail in two boats at the same time. What was supposed to be a year long sabbatical to indulge her hosting talent became a full fledged career. According to her, though she dint regret the shift, she missed being part of the corporate world.
Career of Mini Mathur
Mini Mathur got the chance to work with MTV as a VJ. She took it as a hobby but started liking it and quickly became popular. After working as a MTV VJ for 4 years she rose to the limelight by hosting the much popular Indian Idol show. She is also the anchor of the show Bombay Blush, a wacky cultural show on the Indian subcontinent. It was aired on BBC in England. Mathur also hosted shows like Big Picture, MTV 123 and MTV Gaana Masti which were spoofs on film songs, international shows and much more. Engaging herself behind the camera also earned her a lot of accolades. She produced two documentaries A Nation Celebrates which was a film commissioned by the Ministry of External Affairs to commemorate 50 years of India`s independence and another film titled `From Corner Shops to Lords` which was commissioned by the MEA on successful NRIs in England.

In her personal life also, Mini Mathur is a very happy and contented individual. She is blissfully married to renowned documentary and commercial filmmaker, Kabir Khan, for more than 7 years, presently residing in Mumbai. The couple has two children, son Vivian and a daughter Sairah.
Mini Mathur focuses on her career as well as helps her husband with the international projects. She is also deeply interested in different forms of cinema and hopes that she can make a film one day.
