Mike Pandey, Indian ConservationistMike Pandey is an Indian wildlife conservationist who has won tremendous recognition for his work. Mike Pandey has worked extensively for spreading awareness among the people about wildlife diverseness in the country and their conservation. Born in Kenya, Mike Pandey was highly inspired by the Nairobi National Park, which was located at the back of his house. His adventures with the camera started at the young age of seven years.

Professional Life of Mike Pandey
Mike Pandey was educated and trained in United Kingdom and United States. Mike Pandey and his brother Ishwar have obtained experiences from Hollywood, USA as interns and in India from Director of special effects and war scenes in several popular Hindi films like Razia Sultan, Betaab, Gazab, etc. But for Mike Pandey the call of the wild was extremely strong and that eventually attracted him towards diverse India wildlife. This renowned conservationist has also produced several popular television programmes of India such as Earth Matters. This series on wildlife and environment has won four prestigious international awards. He has also produced the educational series for children "Khullam Khulla".

Mike Pandey received several national as well as international awards for his contribution towards the conservation of wildlife of India. In the year 1994, Mike Pandey became the first producer and director of Asia to win the Wildscreen Panda Award. This award is also known as Green Oscar. He received this award for his film "The Last Migration - Wild Elephant Capture in Sarguja". Further, he received this award for the second time for his film Shores of Silence - Whale Sharks in India. Moreover, the film also led to the prohibition on the killing of whale sharks on the shores of the country. Later, this film of Mike Pandey also won a National Award in the category of Best Film in “Exploration and Adventure”, 2005. Mike Pandey made the country proud by winning the Green Oscar for the Third time in October 2004. He won this award for his film Vanishing Giants. This film led to forbidding of cruel techniques of elephant capture in the country. In the year 2005, Mike Pandey was conferred with the Award for Cinematic Excellence by Western India"s Cinematographers Association in Mumbai.

Mike Pandey has film making experience and has produced over 600 films. His films are considered as powerful tools for bringing about necessary changes locally, nationally and internationally.
