Medical entrance examinations are those Indian entrance examinations, which help students in entering renowned medical colleges of the country. These exams are conducted at national and state levels. A candidate who has cleared the 10+2 examination, with a combination of Physics, Chemistry and Biology is eligible to appear for Medical Entrance Examinations.

Conduction of Medical Entrance Examinations
Information regarding application forms and last date of submission are given in the leading newspapers of India and also in the official websites of the conducting boards. A week after the declaration of senior secondary results, interested students need to appear for the medical entrance examinations. If the name of the student appears in the merit list of an entrance examination, then that student will be placed on a platform from where he can choose a career from a number of options that are available in the field of medicine. A candidate can choose to appear in any of the medical entrance examinations.

Selection Process in Medical Entrance Examinations
The scores obtained in the written examination decide the selection of the candidates. After clearing the entrance tests, the candidate is called for counseling, after which the candidate is given admission in a medical school. At the time of admissions, the selected candidates are required to bring certain documents like mark sheets, school leaving certificates, age-proof, etc.

Different Medical Entrance Examinations
National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) help medical students to take up dental course (BDS) or postgraduate course (MD/MS) in Indian government or private medical colleges. There are two types of NEET exams. They are Undergraduate NEET Exam and NEET Postgraduate Exam. All India Common Entrance Examination (AICEE) is organized by the Veterinary Council of India. This exam can help one to enter the first year of Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) and Animal Husbandry (AH) degree course. Other Medical Entrance Examinations are All India Institute of Medical Sciences Entrance Exam, Armed Forces Medical Core Entrance (AFMC) and State Medical Entrance Exams.
