Geography of Marble Rocks
The Marble Rocks towering nearly 100 ft high above the flowing river has carved the soft marble, creating a beautiful gorge of about 3 km in length.

The waterfalls along the marbles and rocks create a mist-like effect, giving the look of smoke erupting from the water, making it a mesmerizing sight to see. This massive white water gushing down creates the waterfall that erodes the rocks and forms the gorge known as the "Dhuandhar Waterfall".

The Marble Rocks can be enjoyed in all its glory while taking a boat ride in Narmada River. There is also a ropeway that takes through the gorge making the experience of watching this marvel of nature, a stunning sight.

Crafts of Marble Rocks
The beautiful white marbles of Marble Rocks are rich in magnesium, having hardness similar to a soap stone. In addition to these, brown and blue hued marbles are also common in this region. The soft marbles of the place can be conveniently carved into various shapes with the aid of just a scalpel. Here mining of local marble is carried out for crafting numerous gorgeous artefacts. These articles are not only cherished by the local folks, but also have a great demand in national as well as international market.

Best Time to Visit Marble Rocks
The best time to visit and experience the best of the Marble Rocks is between mid-October and April. The weather is pleasant at this time of the year. Monsoons should strictly be avoided, as boating, one of the most recommended activities at the Marble Rocks, is shut from July till mid-October.

Visiting Information of Marble Rocks
Jabalpur has its own domestic airport and receives regular flights from Delhi, Bhopal and other major cities of India. Jabalpur railhead is situated on the main Mumbai -Howrah line and most trains on this line have a stop here. There are overnight trains running from Kolkata, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi. Transport Buses from almost all cities of Madhya Pradesh frequent to Jabalpur.
