Manpreet Singh Gony is a Punjab cricketer who also represented India in few international series. He is a right arm medium pace bowler. He made his debut in the domestic league for the Punjab Cricket Team, under Punjab Cricket Association in the Ranji Trophy for 2007-08 seasons. He was later bought by the Chennai Super Kings for Indian Premier League (IPL).
Gony made a huge impact in IPL for the inaugural season in 2008. Playing for Chennai Super Kings he became the leading wicket taker in the competition and also made valuable contribution with the bat, scoring important runs in the slog overs. For the IPL season of 2011, Manpreet Gony was picked up for the Deccan Chargers for a sum of $290,000. Gony was drafted into the Indian cricket team for the Tri-Nation Series in Bangladesh in place of Santhakumaran Sreesanth who was ruled out with a side strain.
