Manmatha, The KamadevaIn the Hindu mythology Manmatha is another name of the Kamadeva, god of love. Manmatha means churner of hearts.

Manmatha or Kamadeva is son of Hindu goddess Sri and also the incarnation of Pradyumna, Krishna`s son.

He is represented as the cause of sensual love both in mortals and celestials, but especially in the female sex. On the other hand his wife Rati inflames the fire in the male sex- like Venux of old.
