Mandalgarh is a town located in the Bhilwara district of the western state of India, Rajasthan. It is located between 25.2° North latitude and 75.1° East longitude at a height of 382 metres (1253 feet) above mean sea level. Mandalgarh is in the southeast of Bhilwara, the district headquarters town at a distance of 54 km. The city of Chanvaleshwar is located at a distance of 40 km from Mandalgarh.

The Indian Census report of 2001 states that Mandalgarh has a population of 20,161. Males comprises of 51% of the population and females account for 49% of the population. In Mandalgarh, 15% of the population is less than six years of age. The Census report also throws light on the literacy rate of the town, which is 50%. The literacy rate is much lower than the national average literacy rate, which is 59.5%. To be specific, the male literacy rate is 63% and the female literacy rate is 36%.

A major landmark of this historic town is a fort located in its northwest. The Balnote clan of Rajputs constructed the fort. The fort stretches half a mile and consists of low fortifications and citadels. There is also an old temple of Jaleshwar and a Shiva temple.
