Mamit is a ` census town` situated in the Mamit district of the northeastern state of India, Mizoram. It is the seat of administration of Mamit District. This beautiful town located in the lap of the hills rests at an altitude of 718 metres (2355 feet) above mean sea level. Mamit is 30 km northwest of Aizawl. The nearest `access points` are the airport at Imphal and the Silchar Railway Station.
