Maharashtra Engineering Entrance Exam (CET) is the entrance test conducted for admissions in undergraduate engineering degree courses offered by the private and government aided institutes of Maharashtra. This entrance examination is organized by the directorate of Technical Education for all Health Sciences, Engineering and Pharmacy courses.

This entrance test is organized by the directorate of Technical Education for all Health Sciences, Engineering and Pharmacy degree programmes. For conducting Maharashtra Engineering Entrance Exam (CET) for each stream, the Government of Maharashtra is allotted as the Competent Authority. This entrance examination is undertaken by those students who are seeking admissions to various private as well as government funded universities or colleges in the state of Maharashtra for pursuing undergraduate degree courses in engineering stream. Candidates who are from outside the state can also appear for Maharashtra Engineering Entrance Exam (CET). However, they can only take admissions in private institutes and colleges and moreover, for them, the number of seats are also limited.

Application Forms for Maharashtra Engineering Entrance Exam (CET)
The aspirants can obtain the application forms and information brochures for Maharashtra Engineering Entrance Exam (CET) from the High School or the Junior College from where the candidate has completed his education within the state. The prescribed application forms can be obtained from the Principal or Dean of the concerned school or college. The candidates must note that they need to submit the completed application form (they must fill the form in their own handwriting) before the last date of submission.

Eligibility Criteria for Maharashtra Engineering Entrance Exam (CET)
The first and foremost criterion is that the applicant should be an Indian National. The minimum academic qualification is a pass in the HSC (10+2) examination under Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or any equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% score (45% for the candidates of backward class categories) for admissions in engineering course. For getting admissions in health science and Pharmacy degree programmes, a minimum of 50% score in aggregate is required in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The students who are appearing for the 10+2 examination are also eligible to apply.

Pattern of Maharashtra Engineering Entrance Exam (CET)
The paper of Maharashtra Engineering Entrance Exam (CET) includes two main papers and each of the paper is of 1 and a half hours. The two main papers comprises the following subjects -

Physics and Chemistry (50+50 marks)

Mathematics (100 marks)

This entrance test carries objective types of questions and each of them carrying four options. There is no system of negative marking in this test, so the students are advised to attempt maximum number of questions.

Syllabus for Maharashtra Engineering Entrance Exam (CET)
The syllabus of this entrance test for engineering is generally same as that of the syllabus that is followed in the 10+2 level or HSC under the Board of Maharashtra.
