Maharashtra Cricket Association is the main administrative body with Cricket related activities in the state of Maharashtra and the Maharashtra Cricket Team. This association is formally affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India. BCCI is the parent body for all the cricket associations in India and is involved in conducting cricket matches of domestic and international important and standard.

Maharashtra Cricket Association affiliated to the Board of control for cricket in India is the parent body or governing the game of Cricket in Maharashtra, and involved in the conduct of the game from the grass root level to the International level.

The Maharashtra Cricket Association supports, promotes and also helps in the development of Cricket in the state by conducting various League Tournaments, Tournaments for the age group Under-13, Under-15, Under-17, and Under-19, Under-22 and Under-25 categories besides organizing and conducting National Tournaments

The Maharashtra Cricket Team functions directly under this association. The team is based in the city of Pune in Maharashtra state. Currently it is in the plate group of Ranji Trophy. It is one of the three teams that are actually based in the state of Maharashtra, the other two teams being Vidarbha Cricket Team and, superpower Mumbai.
