Mahalaxmi YantraA yantra is a geometrical design imprinted on a gold, mercury, crystal, copper or silver plate. It is an instrument of worship and devotional "sadhanas" or "mantras" are offered to it. It is a bridge to reach the divine power through concentration, meditation and utmost faith in the God or Goddess, to which it is dedicated. Presently it is also available in multi-colored inks on paper.

Geologically, a yantra is a monogram - a spectrograph of sonic energy. It generates specific currents of sublime sound, which is perceived as the manifestation of the divine power. It is a structure with contours representing divine energy fields.

Mahalaxmi Yantra
Among the several yantras, Mahalaxmi Yantra is considered to be the most powerful yantra. Being the most powerful, it is also known as Yantra Raj. In the Mahalaxmi Yantra goddess Lakshmi resides. She is visualized and depicted as being seated on a lotus blooming in muddy water and getting bathed by a pair of white elephants with golden pots.

As proclaimed by the Saubhagya Lakshmi Upanishad, Goddess Laxmi is the consort of Vishnu, conferrer of wealth and good fortune, has the luster of gold, is in golden form and resides in a fortress of gold.

As taught by saints and read in mythology, once goddess Lakshmi left earth to visit Baikunth Dham. No sooner did she leave than the earth became vulnerable to ruinous damages and disasters. All the saints, including Vashishtha called Lakshmi back by creating the "Shri Mahalakshmi Yantra" and worshipped it with proper rituals to protect mankind on earth.

Establishment of Mahalaxmi Yantra
Mahalaxmi Yantra is kept in a particular direction at home, preferably in cash box, cupboard, purse, temple, office, factory, shop, school, on some auspicious day like Diwali, Dhanteras, Ravipushya or Abhijeet Muhurat. Once placed, it should be worshipped everyday to attain the blessings of the deity. Sight or "Darshan" of this yantra in the morning is believed to be sufficient to receive the blessings of the incorporeal being. It is available in various shapes and forms such as a ring, coin and pendant.

Mahalaxmi Yantra Puja
To worship the Mahalaxmi Yantra, a process needs to be followed. One must cleanse himself prior to the puja then sit facing the yantra. Lightening the incense or an oil lamp is imperative. The process continues by sprinkling the water in a leaf on oneself and then the Yantra. A soft cloth is used to wipe the water. A fresh flower and a fresh fruit are kept in front of the yantra. Lastly, one must focus on the tip of the Yantra and convey his problems and wishes to the Goddess with full faith, confidence and positivity.

Purpose of Mahalakshmi Yantra
Mahalaxmi Yantra is worshipped to ask goddess Laxmi for success, prosperity, wealth and comfort in life. She represents auspiciousness. Chanting Mahalaxmi Yantra mantra is said to relieve individuals from pain and problems in life. It helps in attaining wisdom and happiness. Goddess Laxmi symbolizes extreme purity, which is aimed by individuals to achieve in life. Therefore, Mahalaxmi Yantra is worshipped to reach purity. It is also a medium for meditation and experiencing tranquility.

Mahalakshmi Yantra Mantra
While worshipping the yantra, one must chant the Mahalaxmi Yantra mantra for 108 times (1 rosary), preferably with Lakshmi beej mantra.

Mantra- "Om Shreem Mahalaxmiyei Namah or Om Aim Sohom".
