Magadh University is located in Bodh Gaya,Bihar. The University was set up in the year 1962.It is a Government run University.

Magadh University, Bodh Gaya, BiharMagadh University was established in 1962 by educationist and the then Education Minister of Bihar, late Satyendra Narayan Sinha. Dr Sarvapalli Radha Krishnan, the then President of India laid the foundation of the university. Magadh University is approved by the University Grant Commission. The jurisdiction of the University extends to the districts of Patna, Nalanda, Nawada, Gaya, Aurangabad, Jehanabad and Arwal.

The University has 24 Post graduate departments, 44 constituent colleges and 85 affiliated colleges. The University offers various courses in the field of Humanities, Social Science, Science, Commerce, Medical, Engineering & Management .To meet the demand of present age the University has also started several job oriented courses such as M.B.A., M.C.A., B,C.A., B.B.M. Environmental Science, Tourism & Travel Management, Counselling & Rehabilitation, Journalism & Mass Communication. All these courses are conducted in various affiliated and constituent colleges of the University. Two Govt. Medical Colleges, Two private Engineering Colleges, One private Dental College and three Law colleges are also affiliated to the university. The University offers several courses through distance mode.
