Madhi Masjid is located in Mehruli in the city of Delhi on the western side of the Mehrauli Gurgaon Road. It is situated in the Archaeological Survey Park, about 500 meters south of Tomb and Mosque of Maulana Jamali Kamali. The mosque bears a strong resemblance with the Bara Gumbad Masjid of Lodi period. Madhi Masjid is an architecturally different mosque. Built between the Lodi Period and Mughal Period, it has the unique characteristics of an open wall mosque as well as a covered mosque. The flat roofed chambers of the mosque have been adorned with coloured tiles. The roofs have been adorned with arched openings. There are three central bays on the walls of the mosque. The courtyard has been well enclosed with strong walls and has turrets in each corner. The mosque thus looks like a miniature fortress.

The eastern side of the mosque has a beautiful gateway that has been built of grey stone in the Hindu style of architecture. This domed square gateway has been embellished with its two projecting windows of red stone. There is a conflict regarding the time the mosque has been built. Few are of the view that the mosque has been built during the Mughal period while others say that it was erected during the Lodi period. It is for this reason that the architectural pattern of Madhi Masjid resembles both the dynasties. The structure of the mosque also revel the fact that it had been earlier used as a place of worship and was a watchtower to keep a note on the movements of any alien army. The mosque is well accessed from a side road from Mehrauli Badarpur Road leading to Jain Dada Bari Temple. Presently the place remains secluded and has a heavy growth of wild shrubs inside the premises of the Masjid. Tourists can either take local buses from various points within the city to reach this monument, which is located in south Delhi, or they can hire auto rickshaws and taxis or take the metro rail. The nearest railway station is the Nizamuddin Railway Station while the nearest metro station is the Central Secretariat. The nearest International Airport is the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
