Madhavpur Beach is the abode of Madhavrao. The temple of Madhavraoji is one of the most ancient temples located in Madhavpur. The architecture of Madhavrao Haveli Temple is attracted to the local, national and international tourists. Nearby are the ruins of a Shiva Temple, probably from the 12th Century. The beach is not safe for swimming, but perfect for taking in the sea breeze.

Madhavpur is a small town in Gujarat. Madhavpur, a place of spiritual and historical significance is located 60 kilometres southwest of historic town Porbandar. The historic town of Porbandar is well known for Mahatma Gandhi - the Father of Nation. Porbandar is the port city of Gujarat, where Mahatma Gandhi was born.

Madhavpur Beach and the town of Madhavpur also have its historical and mythological significances. It is believed that Lord Krishna, once the most prosperous ruler of Dwarka and the Hindu God had married Rukmini in Madhavpur.

Fair at Madhavpur Beach
To celebrate this mythological incident a local fair is organised. Now this fair become gallant and it became one of the prime attractions amongst the visitors of Madhavpur. This fair is the showcase of the rich cultural heritages of Gujarat, by showing in art, architecture and sculpture. This religious fair is held on Chaitra Sud 12 every year. There is also a Bethak of Mahaprabhuji as Shri Vallabhacharya who had given discourse on Shrimad Bhagwat Gita for seven days here.

Madhavrao Temple
Madhavpur is the ancient and mythological important place in Gujarat. In Madhavpur, there is a 15th century old temple of Madhavraoji who is a form of Lord Krishna. The original temple has been badly damaged in attacks by Muslim invaders in the early phase of medieval times (1191 to 1192 AD that is from the time of Battle of Tarain). However a ruined structure is still present there and became the place of archaeological importance. The ruined structure of the temple gives idea of original undamaged temple. A new temple is constructed for worship, which is now adjacent to the old ancient ruined temple of Madhavrao.

Madhavpur Beach and the small village of Madhavpur have the pristine landform. This beach and the small village are accessible by railways, airways and roadways. The domestic airlines are available from Porbandar, 60 kms away from Madhavpur. Madhavpur is on Porbandar- Dholar metre gauge and Jamnagar-Junagadh railway line of the Western Railways of India. The state transport buses and luxury coaches connect Porbandar to towns and cities of Gujarat.
