Early Life of Madan Puri
Born in the year 1915 in Nawanshahr in the state of Punjab, Madan Puri was the second of the four children of Nihal Chand Puri and Ved Kaur. His elder brother was Chaman Lal Puri and his younger siblings were Amrish Puri, Harish Lal Puri and younger sister Chandrakanta Mehra.

Career of Madan Puri
Madan Puri started his acting career in the year 1946 and continued till 1958. He was the first cousin of the singer K.L. Saigal, with whose help Madan started making his mark in Bollywood. With his debut film “Ahinsa” in 1946, Madan Puri made an average of 8 films per year, playing nefarious characters. He has acted in over 480 films in his entire film career. Once he was established as a star, he helped his younger brother Amrish Puri to enter the film industry. Other than Hindi movies, Madan Puri has also starred in several Punjabi films throughout his career such as Jatti, Jatt Punjab etc.

Personal Life of Madan Puri
At the age of 69 years on 13th January, 1985, Madan Puri died of a heart attack. He was married to Sheela Puri Devi, who died a few years after his death. He has three sons; one of them even published a biography on him titled "My Father, the Villain".
