It is also referred to as `Loleygaon` or `Lolaegaon` and is renowned as a picturesque resort town located in Kalimpong Block I, Darjeeling district, in the Eastern Indian state of West Bengal. About 5000 people reside in the tiny Lepcha village of Lolegaon which is nearly 24 km away from the region of Lava, situated at an altitude of 1, 675 metres.

The tall cypress trees and the natural wilderness of Lolegaon are capable of luring tourists to this spectacular region which is strewn by the colours of golden sunrays in the mornings and quiet sunsets in romantic evenings. Regional tourist attractions are plenty and include the beautiful Heritage Forest, the rich greenery of the Ralli Valley, Lava, and the breathtaking view of sunrise in the Jhandidara Sunrise Point, Kalimpong, Santhahar and others. The serene surroundings of the Heritage Forest in Lolegaon would instil a sense of calmness in the hearts of the travellers, as they proceed through the groups of oak and cypress trees. Kalimpong, Lava, Rishop, Charkhol, Kolekham are the tourist spots around this hilly forest hamlet. Trekking through the forests carries the beautiful experience for one who comes and visits this place. The area covered with coniferous forests is very calm and quite and serene. One can enjoy solitary nature with the fog and mist at its very best.

Visiting Information
Buses are regularly available from Siliguri, which travel to Lolegaon. Visitors can also utilize services of rented cars from Bagdogra Airport or the New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. Apart from that, the area of Lolegaon is nicely interlinked with the various parts of Darjeeling district. Lolegaon can be easily visited throughout the year, except the monsoons which continue from July till August. Leeches create problems during the rains in Lolegaon.

Tourists can choose to pay a visit to the neighbouring villages of Lolegaon, or take long strolls amidst the undulating slopes of this area which comprises some Buddhist monasteries, plantations, dense forests and a `Canopy Walk` while crossing the unique wooden hanging bridge of Lolegaon.
