Lipsa Dash, Indian DancerLipsa Dash is an eminent Odissi dancer who has mesmerized her audiences with her outstanding performances. Audiences outside the home state, Orissa, have well appreciated her performances. Today she has been considered as one of the gem into the finer form of Odissi dance.

Guru Debabrata Das has played a significant role in Lipsa Dash`s life as she has learnt her first dance step from him. Under the torch light of Guru Pitambar Biswal, Lipsa Dash has been inducted to the main domain of Odissi dance at the tender age of 8 years. Her guru nurtured and groomed her in a way that all her intrinsic talents reflect through her performances. Lipsa Dash was born into a family where art form is greatly nurtured. Her father Mr.Guru Prasad Dash and her mother Smt. Saudamini Dash and sister Ipsa Dash has helped her to excel in the field of dance. From the entire range of Odissi dance, Lipsa is very much fond of `pallavis` and `abinaya` pieces. Guru Pitambar Biswal instilled the creamy finest aspect of Odissi dance into her. His versatile teaching style helped Lipsa to excel in the classical form of dance. Eventually she bloomed to the optimum under his guidance.

Lipsa Dash obtained `Sangeet Visharad` degree in Odissi Dance. She passed the degree in First Division from Akhila Bharatiya Gandharb Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai and `Sangeet Visharad` from Prachina Kala Kendra, Chandigardh in 1st Division. She has also won distinction in the practical. This Odissi dancer has also attempted to enrich her style of dance with her specialization in Mangalacharan, Stahi, Pallavi, Abhinaya and Mokhya. Karama, Nachaniya and Danda of Folk Dance (Loka Nurtya).

Lipsa Dash, Indian Dancer Apart from being a well-accomplished Odissi dancer, Lipsa Dash also possesses a good academic record. She graduated in Home Science from Utkal University and presently she is pursuing her post graduate degree. Lipsa Dash also professionally continues Alankar from Akhil Bharitya Ghandarv Mahabidyalaya mandal, Mumbai. Besides this Lipsa Dash is an NCC cadet of rank `Senior Under Officer` with `A` and `B` Certificate holder.

Lipsa Dash has executed her performances throughout her native country India. Lipsa Dash has felicitated a number of times for her intrinsic talent. In the year 2005, Lipsa dash has been awarded the Senior National Scholarship in Odissi dance by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Culture. In the year 2006, Lipsa won a bronze medal in the National level dance Competition in Republic Day Camp, New Delhi. At the state level Rajiv Gandhi Prativa Puraskar, Bhubaneswar, she has been awarded as the `Best Dancer in the year 2005. At the All India Multi Lingual Drama Competition and Cultural Festival, Cuttack she was awarded the Chairman`s Award in the year 2004. In the year 2005, she has been awarded the Sahara Scholarship in NCC, Bhubaneswar. Lipsa Dash has been honored as the Best Dancer by Director General M.C.Bhandari, AVSM, PVSM and BAR, Bhubaneswar in the year 2005. In the year 2006, she has been awarded the National Excellency Award for her marvelous performance in Indian Classical Dance Odissi.
